Common questions
Do we need ConnectWise’s SQL access add-on or Power BI?
No. Reports use the ConnectWise API, and we host the dashboards, so there’s nothing else to buy or license.
What ConnectWise access do you need?
An API member with permission to the data your reports use. Most reports only read data. If you want a report that updates ConnectWise, we’ll ask for only the permissions that report needs. Reports may need a few more permissions than invoices do, and we’ll tell you exactly which ones.
Who can see our reports?
Only people you approve. Your team signs in with Microsoft 365. We can limit each report to specific people or groups, and filter the rows inside a report so each person only sees their own clients, tickets or numbers.
Can reports work with our Rewst, n8n, Zapier or Power Automate workflows?
Yes. A report can send data to your existing workflows or pull in data they produce. If you don’t already have an automation platform, or would rather we manage it, we usually recommend our built-in one: it’s one less system to maintain, and we monitor it for you.
Do you build automations too?
Yes. A common one is annual agreement price increases: apply your yearly percentage to the right agreements and additions, with a review step before anything changes in ConnectWise. Tell us what you do by hand today, and we’ll tell you what we can automate.
Can you customize an included report?
Yes. Customizing a pre-built report is quoted as a fixed fee or hourly, just like a custom report.
Can you build reports in our own Power BI or SQL Server instead?
Yes. If you’d rather run reports in your own tools, see our business intelligence services for Power BI, SSRS and Excel reports built for your environment.
Do we have to use NexNow Hosted Invoices?
No. Reports work on their own. If you also use NexNow Hosted Invoices, your reports plan is $50/month instead of $75.
